The Austrian, Christoph Rumpf, takes home the Première Vision Grand Prize at the 34th Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography that took place during the last weekend in April in Villa Noailles, South of France. The young designer presented a masculine collection surrounding volumes mostly made with recycled materials. This year Natacha Ramsay Levi, the artistic director for Chloé, chaired the Jury.The brand Chloé, a loyal partner of the festival has nominated the Finish designer, Tina Schwizgebel-Wang as the winner of the Chloé Prize, winning a 20000-euro grant.Two other participants also stood out during the festival, Roisin Pierce from Ireland who won Chanel’s Métiers d’Arts Prize and the Public Prize. Whilst the Japanese trio (Tetsuya Doi, Youta Anazawa & Manami Toda) received a special mention from the jury. Also note that the Galeries Lafayette have invited Milla Lintilä to create a capsule collection.The festival also awarded Noelia Morales with the Swarovsky Fashion Accessories Grand Prize of the Jury chaired by the designer Charlotte Chesnais, and Alice Mann with the Photography Prize chaired by Craig McDean.Extract from Natacha Ramsay-Levi’s speech:For us there was a perfect balance between making something very sensual and also very structured.
